It'd be a '70-'71 Elco, something like !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Then it'd get a drivetrain swap courtesy of a pair like !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Add in all the extraneous engine compartment/fuel delivery/etc systems, interior freshening up, brakes, a Hotchkis TVS system, wheels, tires, and a few grand for all the hidden costs, and it worked out to right around 25 grand. Seems reasonable for a vehicle that would be a reliable and *somewhat* fuel efficient DD that would have enough power to sneak up on unsuspecting cars.

That's a good concept! Don't forget the Magnaflow. Haha.

Why not a mid 60's model? So much better looking IMO.

Interestingly enough, I like the 66-67 Chevelles way more than I like the 69-71 Chevelles, but I like the later El Caminos more. I think the proportions on the earlier elcos just look a little off (bed looks too long, among other things). I like the '67 elcos though.

A basic suggestion: if you plan on giving it a slightly ratty look, find a way to do the hood in blackboard paint, so everyone at various shows, family, and friends can sign it.

Fair enough! I practically grew up in 65 so I'm biased.

As the owner of a '71 Chevelle, I fully approve of the '71 Elky!
